For those who love to indulge themselves with the creamy and nutty chocolate spread, Nutella, there is an unfortunate news.

It is because Nutella will get expensive.

Around 70 percent of the world’s hazelnut crop is grown near Turkey’s Black Sea coast. This year, heavy rain hit the area and devastated the local hazelnut crop.

The price of hazelnuts has skyrocketed by more than 60 percent. Today, the cost sits at $10,500 per ton, a jump from $6,500 per ton in February.

This means that producers will have to pay more to get the nuts and consumers will have to pay more for the delicious treat, too.
