The number of Korean workers earning more than 100 million won a year has doubled in the last four years, according to data gathered by the government.
The Financial Supervisory Service and the National Tax Service reported that approximately 2.6 percent of all salaried workers in Korea took home an annual salary of 100 million won or more in 2012. This figure is more than double the 1.4 percent in 2008.
Similarly, the number of people earning less than 30 million won also doubled during the same time period from 2 percent to 4.1 percent.
